Pride Series day 5. On day 5 I have the privilege for talking to Monique Fontaine. Monique Fontaine, a 34 year old trans woman of color who currently lives in New York City and has for the past 12 years. She is a full time makeup artist at Sephora. Monique is very open about being trans and has been blessed to have some incredible people in her life. She uses her platform as an openly transwomen to empower other human beings to be the best version of themselves...She says... Live.. love.. and be proud of who you are..
Introduction
New York city was the birth place of Pride and is still the home to many people of the LGBTQ+ community. It is a haven of diversity and inclusion. The Stonewall Riots were started by trans woman of color and unfortunately the most marginalized community in America. The Stonewall riots may have ended 50 years ago, but the fight continues to forge on.
